"Ultimate Music Survey"
1)A song whose lyrics you thought you knew in the past, but about which you later learned you were incorrect.
Little Red Corvette by Prince. I thought he said Little babe, call me.
2)Your least favorite song on one of your favorite albums of all time.
Black Bird by The Beatles from their White Album. Im barely a fan of the McCartney songs as is, and this one tops them all for sucking the most schlong.
3)A song you like by someone you find physically unattractive or otherwise repellent.
Walking on The Sun by Smashmouth. I mean, cmon. Hes really less than cute.
4)Your favorite song with the name of a city in the title or text.
Tiny Dancer by Sir Elton John. Blue jean baby, L.A. lady
5)A song you've listened to repeatedly when you were depressed at some point in your life.
Velvet Sea by Phish. I have no idea why, but it brings it out of me. Its haunting and beautiful.
6)Ever buy an entire album just for one song and wind up disliking everything but that song? Gimme that song.
Never. I always buy CDs I know Im gonna enjoy at least two thirds of. J
7)Your favorite song that has expletives in it that's not by Liz Phair.
Hmmm. Okay. I cant think of anything! Theres no way I listen to music without cursesIll get back to you. OH! Longview by Green Day. When masturbation's lost its fun, you're fucking lazy. True dat.
8)A song that sounds as if it's by someone British but isn't.
Look What Youve Done by Jet. Theyre from Australia. J
9)A song you like (possibly from your past) that took you forever to finally locate a copy of.
Major Tom (I'm Coming Home) by Peter Schilling. I had to sing a little of it and everything when searching. FUNNN. It also took me forever and then some to locate the discontinued album The Land of Rape and Honey by Ministry. But THATs what good girlfriends do. They search high and low to find their boyfriends dream album and give it to them for their birthday. (Oh. That was a few years ago. Dont worry fellahs, Im still sane and single.)
10)A song that reminds you of spring but doesn't mention spring at all.
Sleep the Clock Around by Belle and Sebastian. Listen to me. Buy this album. This album was MADE for lonely, quiet, midnight drives with the windows rolled down. Its calm and gorgeous.
11)A song that sounds to you like being happy feels.
Steal My Sunshine by Len. I was lying on the grass on Sunday morning of last week,
indulging in my self-defeat
12)Your favorite song from a non-soundtrack compilation album.
HA! Youre Gonna Die by William Shatner and Ben from Ben Folds Five. From what I understand, the two of them collaborated an entire album. Its pure genius. I was listening to this song last night and honestly thought to myself, Just what I need another crush on an eccentric, old guy.
13)A song from your past that would be considered politically incorrect now (and possibly was then).
Sweet Home Alabama. In Birmingham they love the governor What a bunch of jerks.
14)A song sung by an overweight person.
Nessun Dorma as sung by Pavarotti. What!!? I like that shit.
15)A song you actually like by an artist you otherwise hate.
The Reason by Hoobastank. Im not a Hoobastank kind of gal but I like that song its catchy.
16)A song by a band (whose members actually play instruments) that features three or more female members.
I can honestly say I am not a fan of Gal Groups. I REALLY enjoy however, female artists who write their own shit and have a band hired to back them.
17)One of the earliest songs that you can remember listening to.
Sexy and 17 by the Stray Cats. It was my first vinyl.
18)A song you've been mocked by friends for liking.
Spice Up Your Life by The Spice Girl. Shut up. Theyre completely harmless and funnnn.
19)A song that has helped cheer you up (or empowered you somehow) after a breakup or otherwise difficult situation.
Dude. The entire Fiona Apple cd When The Pawn shoot.
20)What was the last song you downloaded?
I dont download. But Rachel just downloaded the new Keane Cd and is giving me a copy. Does that count???
21)An album you love that is flawless from start to finish (in other words no song skipping necessary)?
The Muse album called Absolution. I cannot stop listening to it.
22)The song that made you get the album in that first place?
Time is Running Out. Yesssssss.
23)Give me the song title which you think best describes who you actually are. Explain.
Secret Smile by Semisonic. Shhhh, dont tell anyone Im a hopeless, wishful romantic.
24)Now give me the song title which you think best describes your personality. Explain.
Little Miss Cant Be Wrong by The Spin Doctors. J Its true and Im not ashamed to admit it. In fact, I revel in it.
25)Quick your favorite clever song lyric!
Cause loves such an old fashioned word and love dares you to care for people.
26)Your favorite lyric from a romantic song that is NOT.
I want you, I need you, but there aint no way Im ever gonna love you. THATs harsh.
I want to re-thank Gump for giving me another easy diary post.
OOps. Looks like I skipped a question.
Last Question)Name your favorite cover of a song that most people haven't heard of.
The Chauffeur covered by The Deftones, originally done by Duran Duran. Trust me. This song is smokin HAWT.
